New Be Your Own Duck Commander™ Kids Fiction Series Engages Young Readers with Interactive Stories and Duck Commander® Fun

Carol Stream, Ill.—Tyndale House Publishers (@tyndalehouse) announces the upcoming publication of a four-book Duck Commander® kids’ fiction series, releasing in October 2014.

The Duck Commander® brand and Robertson family are partnering with Tyndale House to bring their promise of faith, family, and fun to engaging stories for youth fiction readers. The Be Your Own Duck Commander® adventure series is written by John Luke Robertson, Willie and Korie’s son, (@john316Luke923) with Travis Thrasher. Readers become one of the main characters of  Duck Commander® in each zany and fun adventure. Targeted at 8- to 12-year-olds, each of the four books presents wacky challenges and gives young readers a variety of paths out of trouble. The series is filled with humor, life lessons, and a fun tone, consistent with the Duck Commander® characters and brand. At the conclusion of each adventure, a faith lesson is delivered by John Luke Robertson.

The first book in the series, Willie’s Redneck Time Machine (ISBN: 978-1-4143-9813-6/$9.99), is a wild, action-packed journey with wise lessons embedded along the way. When Willie finds a mysterious outhouse in the Duck Commander® warehouse, he discovers there’s more to it than meets the eye. Soon he’s traveling through time and space, from his high school prom to biblical times to a futuristic war in the year 2319. Additional adventure books in this series include Phil & the Ghost of Camp Ch-Yo-Ca, Si in Space, and Jase & the Deadliest Hunt.

Tyndale Associate Publisher Karen Watson says, “We believe that fiction is the perfect addition to the Duck Commander® brand. Tyndale is thrilled to be able to bring our experience in fiction to this project. We consider John Luke’s ongoing positive influence through the Duck Commander® adventure series to be a great way to encourage young readers.”

John Luke Robertson adds that “it’s really important for kids to read at an early age.” In creating this youth fiction series, he hopes to engage young readers by drawing them into the stories and playing a role in each story’s outcome. He presents a faith lesson at the conclusion of each story and notes that in both his stories and his life, “It’s all about making the right decisions.”

Books will be available individually ($9.99) and in a four-book boxed set ($29.99).
